"Making small stuffs do big things"
When the size of materials is reduced to the nanoscale dimemsion, physical and chemical properties can change dramatically. Understanding and utilizing these new properties is important to enable novel applications for our daily lives and future. The goal of our research group is to synthesize advanced nanomaterials with the controlled crystal structures, morphologies, sizes, compositions and surface properties using low-cost and scalable processings. in addition, we are investigating in a broad range of nanoscale properties and developing next generation electronic& optical devices, energy conversion & storage systmes and environmental technologies.

Artificial photosynthesis for hydrogen evolution
1. GaN/ZnO solution solution
- Synthesis of GaN/ZnO solid solution nanofibers via an electrospinning process

Photocatalytic degradation for environmental applications
1. Bismuth oxide
- Synthesis of bismuth oxide nanofibers via an electrospinning process

High refractive index materials
1. Zirconium oxide
- Synthesis of zirconium oxide nanoparticles using SA-USP
2. Titanium oxide
- Synthesis of Titanium oxide nanoparticles using SA-USP

Chalcogenide semiconducting materials
1. Copper-based chalcogenide
- Synthesis of copper sulfide nanostructures

Lead-free piezoelectric materials

Printed Electronics (with Hanyang University)
1. Conductive inks for inkjet printing
- Synthesis of copper complex ion inks

Water purification (with Coway)
1. Removal of metal cations
- Development of natural HAP nanomaterials
